Advice for getting a job!!

I am 16 (turning 17 in October) and I would like a summer job. I am hoping to get a job in retail and I have been checking the pay and it is not amazing but I guess it will have to do. It’s roughly around £6-£8. If anyone has any tips or would like to share their experience I would be so grateful. I am also hoping to maybe keep the job on till maybe November. And I also am hoping to take maybe a week and a half off in summer to go on holiday, would that be possible. I honestly just need a little guidance on how to actually get a job 😭. If anyone knows how to write a killer CV or could provide me with a template or example or could even explain how the contracts work, I would be so appreciative. Thank you so much
Yea pay for 16yo won’t be great - you will probably be applying for jobs with low skill & experience requirements...

You wont need a banging cv, what you need is a basic resume that highlights you can do the basics: show up consistently & on time, take instructions, use common sense, be a team player...

Nobody is going to ask a 16yo to change the world you will probably have opportunities doing tedious activities where they just need a someone who will crack on with whatever tasks are at hand.

Demonstrating respect, politeness, and a good attitude is probably the best things i can advise. Go into local shops, ask to speak to the manager with cv ready look them in the eye and ask if they are looking to take on any junior staff. (Also check Facebook etc.), you can also try places like high street retail, washing dishes, fast food, warehouse jobs...
Okay thank you much this was really insightful!
