apply for accommodation? kcl

I just firmed my place at kcl, I need to apply for student finance is that all? Do I choose my accommodation already and if so where? Is there anything else I need to do?

You should get a link to the accommodation portal (maybe in like a week?) and from there you'll be able to select from the kcl accommodation - you can find the details of each place on their website: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/accommodation/residences

no worries! So student finance you can apply for before or after accommodation; I’m unsure of bursaries as I never applied for one, it might specify on their funding page in the bursary info when the deadline is and what criteria you have to meet - for some it might be that you apply after you get in, again I’m not sure unfortunately. But you just apply for accommodation for your first choice :smile:

If yes is it compulsory to stay in those?

I don’t think there’s a specific accommodation but I know from a friend that at Great Dover Street (where I was at last year - for first years) there was one block that had all the under-18s in, though I can’t say if it was compulsory to be in that block or not

to book accommodation just go to the kings website and it will give you instructions there. you should research into which accommodation you like and make sure it’s near your campus, the kings website tells you the distance of each accommodation to each campus which is useful. you can apply for student finance and accommodation in any order but id recommend looking at accommodation first!
