Running late to lectures - Oxford Brooke's

hii, I was jw what u are expected to do if you are running late to a lecture (e.g. bus delays, woke up late by accident etc) ?

honestly, it depends the subject. in my experience, lecturers are generally just happy that you show up, and most people don't really care if you come in late. if really necessary/you want too, email your professor to see you'll be late

Hi there,

If you’re running late to a lecture, it’s a good idea to let your lecturer know as soon as you can. When you get there, try to slip in quietly and apologise briefly. To catch up on anything you missed, ask a classmate for notes or check online resources.

Just so you know, the University keeps track of your attendance and engagement throughout the semester. If it looks like you’re falling behind whether it's missing classes, deadlines, or not engaging with Moodle the Engagement Coordinators will reach out. They’re there to help you, so if you need support, they can connect you with the right people or resources.

possibly also worth mentioning, for any overseas student with a student Visa, the uni is expected to report attendance - not sure what the rules are these days mind
