Anyone deciding to do BA find art at ECA?

Hi, I attended the offer holder day at ECA last Friday and I have firmed it as my first choice. Wonder if anyone else is also making up their mind now?

Yes, I thought it was fab! I love the huge windows looking out to the Castle. Great light for painting.

I liked the environment out there which was quite classic and it appeared that they have a fantastic display of facilities that help fit in different specialism! But what I consider most important is definitely the surrounding environment in the city centre. I chat to one of their tutors and they sounded really nice to me overall!

The Art Collage has amazing facilities. I did a short evening course there before and it was really good. Where are you from? I'm from Scotland

I am English but of Chinese descent. I went to attend the offer holder day myself from Yorkshire haha. Did you visit there yourself or with your family?

I went with My Sisters. I was born in Edinburgh and went to school there. Yorkshire is beautiful.

Aw that was lovely, I cannot imagine how good it was being raised in Edinburgh and growing up there! This was my second time going to Edinburgh myself, to me it was definitely much better than staying in a little industrial town here in Yorkshire haha

It’s a lovely city but can get very busy at time. My mum is from the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire we went a lot when I was little.

I tend to think it can get quite overwhelming as well especially around the Old Town part where you get a large number of people walking in and out on end. But compared it to London, where I applied for ual, it seems to be much better in terms of the overall environment. Where else did you apply?

I applied to Glasgow, Dundee , St Andrews, Grays School of Art

Ooo St Andrew has a fine art course?

it only has History of Art. Where did you apply?

I applied to Camberwell, Oxford, Slade and Newcastle besides Edinburgh.

Nice selection. What area of art are you interested in ?

Painting and drawing, on top of that I also add some other extra media such as collage and Lino prints haha. What areas are you interested in?
