DSA Laptop

Hello! I have applied to DSA and will be asking for a laptop, however I have my heart set on a certain laptop.
I would like a Microsoft laptop Go 3 in green, it costs £700ish

I have dyslexia and dyspraxia and I found that the go is light enough for me as well the screen doesn’t look pixelated like most other screens!

Is it possible for me to get that specific laptop or do i just have to take what I’m given ?
Hi,

It really depends. In the past DSA has only contributed £200 towards a laptop, and the rest you would be required to pay. When you have your needs assessment that they will be able to explain it more to you, about how you can get this laptop through DSA. This is a link that has useful information about DSA allowances Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) guide 2024 - Save the Student

hope this helps

They will recommend a laptop which you need to contribute £200 towards which is usually a lower spec device that has enough power to run any software they recommend. However if you want a better laptop and want to upgrade you will need to pay the difference in price between the device they recommend and the laptop you want.
