CYI assessment

Hey! I’m a single parent household and looking to go to uni this coming September. My issue is that my wages have significantly dropped since the 2022-2023 financial tax year. Am I able to apply for a CYI? Or is this only reserved for parents and partners.

Hi Laura,

Do you expect there to be a 15% or more drop in the income from 22/23 to 24/25? If so, you can upload this form below: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/65faebab703c42001a58f098/sfe_cyi_form_2425_o.pdf to your or the students, account. Just ensure you also provide your 22/23 income as well. This then takes 9 working days to reassess and update their entitlement. We'll then ask you for evidence of your actual earnings next April once the tax year has ended. Thanks, Jason
