Funded PhD applications for 2025

Hey folx, I've just graduated with a merit in my masters. And barely made it through the dissertation with a pass. Not to mention I was doing small jobs and zero hour internships to support myself and get experience. I have always wanted to go into academia so I can teach as a professor but after this I don't know if there are universities that will accept me and give me funding for a PhD. And for financial reasons there is no phD for me without funding. My question is if I work on a proposal and take thr year to do it, would I still have chances to get in with funding? The university doesn't matter to me as long as I get funding.
