Conditional Offers

I am currently in s6 and have received a conditional offer for maths at Edinburgh Uni
the offer being ab at higher and b at AH I am a plus flag applicant.

I am worried that I will miss the conditions, can anyone provide abit of insight into how generous they are with accepting missed grades

Thanks in advance!

no problem lol, when applying to Edinburgh you can receive what they call a flag
there are two versions of this

a plus flag means that you could have experienced things like coming from a school with a low percentage of pupils that go to uni or live in a deprived area. If you are deemed to be a plus flag then you will most likely receive an offer based on minimum entry requirements

a flag means that you may have been disadvantage in a minor way. If you are deemed this you may receive priority on offers

here's the link to their description which I'm sure is much better than mine

Hey, they will only know after results day. If the course is over applied/everyone meets their stated requirements and the course is at capacity then you won't be accepted. However, if the course isn't at capacity and they have a few slots to be filled, then they will look at all candidates who have narrowly missed their grade, number them up and decide who will be accepted- they will do this by looking at the circumstances of the individual, e.g background, poverty levels, school pass rate etc, and how close individuals were to meeting their grade. (thus, you may have more of a chance). Best of luck with your exams and hope you meet your offer!
