Hi,
I hope everyone is well.
Thinking about my future, I have quite a few questions regarding the Therapeutic Radiography undergraduate degree at BCU. Interested also to hear from anyone who has completed or is currently in the foundation year leading to this degree (although most questions are more relevant to other levels 😊). Have done thorough research on Therapeutic Radiography, however, I am interested to hear from BCU students' outlook on the course here, and if anyone is willing to offer their insight (little or large) that would be great and much appreciated. - Thank you 😊
Aah here it goes:
(1) How are you finding the course, is it engaging, inspiring, enjoyable, fulfilling and rewarding?
(2) Is there a reason you chose BCU over other unis specifically for this course (other than personal reasons like the location is close to home etc)?
(3) Timetables - What is a rough guide for scheduled on campus learning (lectures, practical classes etc), please? As a rough guide, I mean do you attend uni Mon-Fri. (I understand timetables change and may not be the same every year). From looking at the Course Specification link on the BCU website for the course, it seems to be around 15 hours of campus contact time per week, is that right?
(4) Placements - Are the 4-6 week blocks solid blocks of placement with no campus attendance, and a full-time working week (~40 hours)?
(5) Placements - Within the 4-6 week blocks do you do a mixture of 12-hour shifts, earlies and lates, and are these also Mon-Fri?
(6) Placements - Do you alternate or rotate in your placement settings, for example, do a 4–6 week full block in one location and then the following block of placement in another location etc?
(7) Placements - How are they allocated, are they just allocated randomly, or do you apply for each of the placements?
(8) (Final question – honestly) - Are there any elective modules or opportunities to do a placement abroad, if so, has anyone had the opportunity to go on one? I would love to hear what it was like and the country you went to.
Thank you for having patience reading my post and thank you in advance for any replies!
