Insurance with higher grade requirements than firm

I only like 2/5 unis I got offers for now, the uni I want to firm (Bath Spa) has lower entry reqs that the other uni,(Royal Holloway) should I still put Bath spa first with Royal Holloway as insurance? Or is this impractical?
It greatly reduces the chances of the insurance choice being needed BUT if you’ve no interest in your other offers then you are not risking much and it’s likely the best option.

If Bath Spa is where you want to go then firm it. You probably wont need an insurance. Why do you prefer Bath spa over Royal Holloway

Just be aware that Bath Sa has no reputation for anything apart from Performing Arts and that its a tiny University with very limited facilities. You wont need an Insurance for these reasons - its a hard-to-fill course and they will accept many students with below-grades to fill it.

The actual main building for the geography course at RH is not nice whatsoever, it’s the queens building and I don’t think i’d like to be in there for the next 3/4 years of my life, the rest of the campus is lovely though.

Advising someone where to go is not really practical as everyone has different ideas and the university has to be right for you.

Basically Royal Holloway is far higher ranked than Bath Spa and most students would choose RHUL for that reason. However if Bath Spa is right for you that is where you should firm. The reality is Bath Spa will accept you with lower grades so you wont need an insurance.

Agreed, was going to firm RH for that reason because going to a higher ranked university would be ideal, but the negatives outweighed the positives for me there sadly
