Hi there

A standard college accommodation contract lasts a maximum of 38 weeks (39 in some cases) from the start of Michaelmas term to the end of Easter term. This means that you won't be able to live in college based on this contract. Plus college allocation is also used for summer schools and other activities during the summer. If you'd like to stay, I'd suggest emailing your college and asking them about room availability. If accommodation is offered, you will be charged for it.

Hope that helps

If you can’t get college accommodation, sometimes private halls do summer contracts so this may be worth looking into

Some colleges allow you to extend your contract, especially since they know a lot of peoples private housing contracts usually start in July when move out days happen in June. There are a lot of tenancy takeovers for the summer being advertised on the 'Overhead at Durham university' or look for a housemate group on FB, otherwise - some in student halls with some great discounts.
Student halls in Durham don't usually do summer contracts as most of them don't offer contracts less than 49-52 weeks, but people moving out for the summer will do tenancy takeovers instead.
