By the time I’ve decided between Bristol and Swansea I’ll be almost 40 years old is it worth going to university to study sociology and philosophy
Hi @RR2024, I hope you're doing well and apologies for the late reply. Great to hear you're considering Swansea Uni for Sociology / Philosophy.
I returned to studies in my 30s and I really enjoyed working on the the things I'm passionate about - I studied Music and Film and went on to work a little bit in the creative arts and music etc...but ended up working in HE marketing and now I work as part of a big team helping future students like yourself. I suppose it depends on what you want/need to get out of your studies, what's important to you, and your future aspirations for work or further study.
We can try and put you in touch with our Faculty team if you'd like to chat in more detail on course options for Sociology and Philosophy at Swansea - you're welcome to send me a direct message and I'll follow up asap.
The Student Room also has numerous other forums where students chat about subject and course options, share their experiences and recommendations - here's a link to the main sub-forum menu https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=3.
Feel free to get in touch if you need any further info or assistance. Best wishes and catch up soon, Gethin (Future Students Team).
