did terribly in my history coursework, can i still get a B?

i got 18/40 for my ocr history coursework which really shocked me because i worked so hard for it, but it’s around a D and i desperately need a B for uni… is this possible without doing impossibly well in the actual exams?

Absolutely you can do it!! Talk to your teachers about your weak areas, drill own knowledge and make sure you get essay structures down!! You’ve got this!!

I don’t know much about ocr grade boundaries but assuming that 80% is an A grade then for each paper you need to aim for:
Paper 1: You need approximately 35.5 marks out of 50.
Paper 2: You need approximately 21.3 marks out of 30.
Paper 3: You need approximately 56.8 marks out of 80.

For a B grade, assuming that’s 70%, you need: Paper 1: You need approximately 30.5 marks out of 50.
Paper 2: You need approximately 18.3 marks out of 30.
Paper 3: You need approximately 48.8 marks out of 80.

So it’s totally doable
grade boundaries are much lower than that i think, to get a b u probably dont want to drop more than 83 marks total, so as long as u can make sure u dont drop more than 61 marks u should be good
focus on what u got now. I did rlly well in my history coursework but didn't do well overall. I had friends who didn't do as well but did better than me don't beat urself up! I'm resitting ocr history rn- we're all stressed dw! xx

Hi I got 34/40 on my coursework, using the 2019 grade boundaries I need around 63 on each paper so like 126 in total. Since I got 34 does that reduce the amount of marks I need to get on my exams? For example would I only need to get 92 marks in total (126-34) which is like 46 per paper? Or am I misunderstanding it completely and that’s not how it works? Please help im so stressed about this exam and would like to go into the exam knowing I have secured some marks which account for something lol

This is assuming all OCR history r the same w the same overall marks (i cba to check) So following 2023 grade boundaries youd need minimum high Bs on ur other exams to scrape that overall B. (idk if some/all topics are the same) For the exam thats /50, youd need 30+, for the exam thats /30, youd need 19+ and for the exam thats /80 youd need 52+! a B grade following 2023 would be 57% so maybe youd need less than what i estimated!

there are 160 marks in the exam. 40 came out from coursework. So 200 in total marks. Check grade boundaries overall. Grade doesn't matter in terms of components the number of marks does.
