Alternative course offer, Kings law to history

Hi guys! I got rejected from KCL law but they’ve told me that they’re considering me for history instead
I’ve searched online and struggled to find much about this, but does anyone know anyone else/ any stats on this sort of thing? Like am I assured to get into history now or can be double rejected lol. How rare is this from kings etc- can anyone else relate and will u accept?
I’m super happy to do history, as after I applied I wished I’d picked another course to do a conversion course (a lot of places prefer this), so this is a super big win for me and I’m just happy to not be fully rejected from my dream uni.

So anyone have anything to add to this scenario? Thanks!

I have no idea about history but do u mind sharing ur stats pls .

King's started this a few years ago, using history as an alternative course for those rejected for more popular subjects. It's not uncommon.

Fingers crossed 🤞Ik it’s horrible, gets in the way of booking accommodation etc. I reckon if they’ve viewed your application you’ll get in or get an offer or for an alternative course! Congrats on your Lnat btw, amazing score. Although I’ve heard that home students are expected over 30, but if u haven’t been rejected for Lnat by now I reckon you’ve got rlly high chances as I’ve been told those with uncompetitive scores were ‘filtered out’- which you haven’t been so stay hopeful :smile:

thank you. let's see what's to come. I'm curious about your alternative offer though....did they say its as offer ? what do they mean by ' considering '
how do u know if they've viewed ur application .I had an email thanking me for my application back in Feb and that I may not receive an outcome for " a short while " ..

It sounds like you may not have heard of “kings portal”, it’s a website you log into with the email you applied with and then you can see the status of your application, when it was last viewed, if they’ve messaged you etc (I got a message about proof for my contextual offer, a missing Lnat score and the change of course lol)
I think in one of the initial emails from kings they give you a link/ a password or something to sign up with- so if you haven’t already you should definitely do that!

So for my course change, I got a message on the portal earlier today saying that I’d been unsuccessful, but they’d consider me for history and would let me know soon. Then a few hours later I got a confirmation message (again on the portal) to say I’d been accepted onto the history course and all of the details. My ucas hasn’t changed yet to say I’ve had any news from kings, but I assume they’ll update soon with the course update etc.
so by considering I’m assuming that they’d explained the situation to the history department, gave them my application and then they decided for definite

it's says viewed and processing...
talk about suspense 😂
