EY Foundation Smart Futures program

Hi! I've done an interview and signed up to the EY Smart Futures Internship. It consists of a week over the Easter holidays and a week in the summer.

Currently debating whether it would be worth doing it, as I kind of applied on a whim. How beneficial would this be for me, since I'm already on a few residential activities over the summer (UNIQ, Uni of Edinburgh Maths + CS, and Nuffield Research Programme). More concerned about how good it would be for my application than the money.

Thanksss

Hi, I am still waiting for a response so was wondering if they are only giving interviews to people who applied for April? (I have applied for summer). Good luck in the interview!

Thanks. The interview was good. Btw I applied for the programme in February so I think they’re interviewing people who applied for the BUSINESS AND FINANCE work experience - which is in February.

Good to hear that it went well! My interview will probably not be for a while then (If I get one 😅) as I applied for summer. Are you also able to give any advice for the interview and how long it lasted. Thank you.

The interviews were supposed to be 30 minutes, but mine and many others had interviews which lasted around two thirds of that time. As for advice, they usually give 5 days where you choose which time to take the interview. Make sure you DO NOT pick the earliest date, this is so that you can ask friends or acquaintances what questions were asked so that you can prepare using or flashcards or whatever you choose. Also think outside the box or use AI to make your answers something that an ‘employer’ would value.

I thought it is also worth me asking what type of questions were asked because unfortunately none of my friends are interested in finance. I understand if you don't wish to share that info tho 🙂 Thank you anyway!

I can’t remember them all but the first two they emailed to you the day before the interview. Then the rest were as follows
- How can AI be used in the workplace? What are positives and negatives of this and what problems could it create?
- What achievement are you most proud of?
- What would you do if a teammate in a sports team were struggling to balance sport and school work?
- You are in a group project and members have differing views. How would you work around this?
Then there was like a couple more that weren’t too bad but there’s only a total of 8/9 questions.

Nice! Sounds like you should stand a good chance of getting a place. Did u apply to Easter or Summer? I applied to summer and still haven't heard back if I got an interview. I am seeing lots of people get offers for Easter on LinkedIn.
