Super frustrating as I rely on my short term memory and am going to have to absolutely cram as much History as I can in the next two days without as much focus on law. Terrified I'll suddenly forget all the law when I'm cramming my History lmao.
Can anyone please briefly explain the difference between involuntary and voluntary manslaughter as I know the questions have recently began to change the wording to 'unlawful act manslaughter'. Thank you!

As far as I understand it:
Involuntary manslaughter is Unlawful Act Manslaughter/Gross Negligence Manslaughter - so D did not intend to kill but did so due to gross negligence (GNM), or intending to cause some harm but less than GBH and accidentally killing (UAM)
Voluntary manslaughter is Diminished Responsibility/Loss of Control - so D DID intend to kill but only due to loss of control (LoC) or because of a recognised medical condition (DR)
if a question asks about unlawful act manslaughter they are referring exclusively to unlawful act manslaughter, where D intends to cause some harm (less than gbh) and this results in someone dying
