Yes we do Ofcourse it’s one of the most essential parts of the actual reas element killing ‘, whether there was either A. a break in the chain of causation, this depends on the scenario.

B. Which is the most important, both factual and legal causation

It depends if there are any causation issues. If there are any, then you have to go through factual and legal causation and other factors e.g victims own acts. If there are no causation issues that needs to be established you can just say that D is the factual and legal cause of the death of V, therefore he has fulfilled the AR. then move on to MR

yes you do for murder, and others like ABH, GBH and wounding but it doesn't come up for everything
