Figuring out if I want to put a tattoo on my foot or rib cage, which do y'all think hurts worse? Ribs or feet more painful to tattoo? (Online sources/searches say "they are equally bad".

The hands, feet, Ribs, head and neck are the most painful places to get a tattoo. The places with less pain is arms and legs. Especially the lower areas (calves and forarm). They usually say the meatier the area the less pain. Hands, feet, ribs they're very boney places and can be painful. It also depends on the person. As my parent is a tattooist they say woman often sit better and handle the pain better but ive had people who can't handle it. You can walk out at anytime they would keep your deposit though. You can also use numbing gel before your appointment. You'd put it on the area and wrap it with cling film and then remove it before your appointment. Most people say it does wear off though.

Inner forearm I heard especially close to the elbow ditch. Numbing cream affects the skin texture and can affect the deposit of the ink as well. Plus when you use numbing cream people think it's not as bad, but when it wears off then they get the whole impact of the needle.

I have tattoos on my inner arms that go up and they were some of my least painful tattoos. I've had numbing cream on one of my tattoos and the ink is the same as all my others. Though your right it can wear off and feel the impact of the needle. It all comes up to personal preference.
