Ordinary degree

I did a foundation year on my course aerospace engineering with pilot studies. I’m now in third year my transcript shows year zero and 120 points as it does with 1st but only 90 points in year 2. I’m in third year now about to finish but I might fail a module that I didn’t pass in second year and I may get kicked off the course at the end of the year. I will have at least 60 third year points by the end. Do I still get an ordinary degree?

You're a third-year student.

In year 0 you've been awarded 120 credits. In year 1 you've been awarded 120 credits. In year 2 you've only been awarded 90 credits.

What you've implied, but haven't explicitly stated, is that in year 3 you're also repeating the 30 credits you weren't awarded in year 2.

Is that correct?

It sounds like you've been allowed a "conditional progression". Hopefully it was explained to you at the time what this meant, and what the repercussions would be if you didn't pass the second-year unit.

You'll need to check your university's regulations to see what will happen.

It's quite possible that if you don't pass the 30-credit 2nd-year module, you'll fail year 2 (overall) and your progression to the 3rd year will be voided. This may mean that you won't be awarded any credit for the 3rd-year units you pass.

As you will only been awarded enough credits to pass year 1, the outcome may be that you'll be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE).

In terms of an ordinary degree, again, you'd need to check your university's regulations. Typically that would be awarded for completing 300 credits -- 120 in year 1, 120 in year 2, 60 in year 3. If you fail the re-taken 30 credit module from year 2, you'd need 90 credits from year 3 to complete 300 credits in total. Whether this is something you could get would again depend on the university's regulations.

I think you need to contact your university's student support team to find out what your best approach is here. You can probably find your university's regulations online.
