hello!! i sat the lnat last year nov 2023 and here are some things that helped me! :

when you should start: start revising now, doesnt matter when youre doing the lnat. doing one or two mock tests little and often throughout the time you have before exam (e.g. six months) is way better and for lnat you really dont want to be stressed out + be able to track your score progress

resources to use: check your local library/college resources for any lnat practices. mine had a couple and looking at the questions on paper really helps with not being as nervous. i also recommend trying out the practice tests they give you on the website

how to prep: for the MCQ, the practice tests help. for essays, read a lot and try to write an essay every once in a while if youre not doing this already. it helps to find your own voice/style, and even practice certain "voices" e.g. argumentative/persuasive
good luck and i wish u all the best!

How long I'd say 6 months is a good amount of time to really not feel stressed about it but in reality you could do it in 2-3 months if you've got a good amount of time to devote to it and you really feel it won't affect your other exams.

How to prep and resources - first and most important are the official past papers on the LNAT website you need to do them all. Regularly reading difficult texts in a variety of quality newspapers and magazines on different topics of the type you wouldn't normally read as this is the type of text that will come up in the real test. Practice writing an essay regularly in the time allowed in the test to get your timing down.

After that if you can afford it I'd recommend getting some of the commercially available materials if you can afford it as they'll give you much needed extra question practice and useful tips on how to answer the questions. I used Arbitio and LNAT Master which are two of the best known. The practice questions in both are similar and both more difficult than the real thing which really sets you up. I preferred the essay method in LNAT Master for section B & their essay marking service.

Thank you, so should I research what the LNAT includes then focus on each section?

Yes definitely, go to the official LNAT website first to see the format of the exam etc.

Also check if the unis you apply to use section B or not, if not you won't need to bother with it.

Good point!

If they do use section B put as much effort into preparing it as section A if not more, some unis like Oxford really place a high value on the essay and it can make up for a low sA score.

If you plan to buy Arbitio to study for the LNAT (which I recommend highly as its a very good preparation course), please feel free to use the code: "10RUCHI3" for 10% percent off for Arbitio. Their prices just increased so any discounts help
