How to afford accommodation as a Postgraduate (MSc) student?

I am looking to apply to York Uni for an MSc course, however student accommodation and private accommodation is quite expensive. I will be studying full-time, and the loan I will get will only cover course fees.
How do I look for a job that will be sufficient to live on?
I would like to do well in my course so I don’t want to jeopardise it. However, I am on my own so no one to help me with any expenses.

Hi,

I’m not sure about York but Liverpool has lots of affordable student housing options if you’ve looked into masters courses at John Moores? Our accommodation team can help by putting mature students together in flats too.

Liverpool is also great for work for students with lots of temporary opportunities (Unitemps, hospitality agencies, etc) They’re ideal for working around studying and decent pay!

For York - York Student Accommodation in York (spareroom.co.uk) - spare rooms in existing flatshares etc.
