Will starting SSRIs qualify for special consideration?

Hi, I’m due to start sertraline in the next week or so, and I have A-Levels starting in 2 weeks until mid/late June. I know friends who have been affected severely during their first 2 months on sertraline, and I’m at a higher risk to adverse side effects (mania) due to suspected bipolar disorder.

Obviously I’m worried that this may affect my exams but it’s not an option for me to delay starting SSRIs for another two months. I have emailed my pastoral tutor about whether or not it would be eligible for special consideration, but she is never really sure about anything and I always end up getting signposted elsewhere.

Has anyone had any experience with this and knows if I would be eligible? Thank you.

I would contact the exam officer at your school and or the SENCO to ask for advice.
