Questions on clearing

So im wondering if i miss my firm choice offer but get into my insurance, could i get a verbal offer from the uni i want to go to without having to decline my insurance offer. Its just because im not sure if i would get into my firm place through clearing so i dont want to decline my insurance offer and be left without a university to go to.
Any help would be much appreciated

I thought its self explanatory lol, Like if i fail to meet the grades, then im not sure if i'd be able to get in if i do go through clearing

You wouldnt get a place on the same course - if they have already rejected you they are not going to take anyone with those grades.

In your first post you mention getting into your Firm choice via clearing, do you mean for another course, or the one you originally applied to?

The one i originally applied for, i was under the assumption that clearing is a last resort to get into the course that you want if the grades are not met, is that not the case?

Just googled it and it says you may get a place on the same course if you just narrowly miss the grade margin so yes, they may take someone with those grades

Yes - but that means they might accept you as a 'near miss' on Results Day - not that you could reapply for the same course in Clearing if you have been rejected.

Unis receive most results ahead of you so will have had time to consider whether they want to accept you as a 'near miss'. They won't make you jump through the hoops of getting in via clearing for the course you applied to.

There should be a decision on Hub on results day. The only reason to contact the uni is if there is no decision posted, or if you want to talk to them about other courses.
