DSA NMH

Hi. From what I have found about DSA they cover NMH for Physical Support around campus (not personal stuff , but pushing assistance, helping me carry stuff and open doors from my wheelchair) and notetakers.

However I just had my assessment and was told these should both be covered by the university and not by DSA. Is this the case or have I been given wrong information. I will be talking to the uni once my report is through.

They have granted me 40hrs for mentor and 40hrs for study skills support so I’m really confused now

Those things are now covered by the university as DSA thinks they should have staff employed to do those things as per their legal duty to carry out reasonable adjustments. The mentoring and study skills support is more specialised and so you get it funded via DSA. Those things provide you strategies so that over time you do not need the support as much, the mentoring aims to help you with your study via personal support and advice.
