edinburgh uni question!!!

hi there, i know i am thinking far ahead as i am just going in to 5th year, but i really hope to go to edinburgh uni when i leave school (to study psychology) and i am just wondering whether it is best/ what is cheaper to do- Live in uni accommodation for 4 years, rent a flat in Edinburgh for 4 years, or just simply drive to Edinburgh every day I have to be in (I live past Glasgow and its about a 2 hour drive- keep in mind i will be having to pay for my own car costs and petrol) anyone know what would be cheaper and also can you even get uni accommodation for 4 years? or would it even maybe be better to do a mix- accommodation for 2 years and rent a flat for the next 2 years? I'm so stuck!!!!

Hi, most people will stay in uni accommodation (halls) for their first year and then stay in a privately rented flat (sharing with friends from university) for the other three years. The accommodation the uni provides for first years is reasonable and suits a range of budgets, but if you were to stay in halls past first year you would have to rent through a private student accommodation company and they are expensive. Commuting from Glasgow would be rough - not impossible, but you should probably work on the basis you will be staying in Edinburgh.
