Does University Of Manchester often go into clearing?

If my achieved grades meet UoM I will go into clearing and apply for UoM mechanical engineering , my question is what is the likely hood that UoM will be in clearing with this course? Is it common and frequent for them to be in clearing?? If you have gotten into UoM through clearing in the past years please share your experience.

Unlikely.
For competitive Unis like Manchester, Mech won't be in Clearing.

What about for mechanical engineering with an integrated foundation year? Those courses are less popular and the entry requirements are much lower. Would those type of engineering courses with a foundation year be available for clearing?

is the course currently open to new applications on UCAS?

Yes but in my case I’ve already applied to 5/5 of my chosen universities, one of them being BEng mechanical engineering at Manchester university. I have received and offer from them but the entry requirements are A*A*A.

I fear I will not be able to achieve those grades, therefore I wanted to switch my offer to the mechanical engineering with an integrated foundation year where the requirements are much lower (BBB).

I initially got in contact with them through phone on the 8th of May and the lady told me that it should be possible and that she had to double check and would send me an email on the same day.

Since then they never got in contact with me and wouldn’t respond to any phone calls or emails.
Until today where I had to call multiple different departments to get me in contact with them and once they picked up the man on the phone was quite unhelpful as he couldn’t answer many of the questions I had, and basically just told me they were busy and that they would get back to me.

Any 'spare' places on Foundation courses tend to get filled by Unis with applicants who didnt meet the offer grades for the main course. Its always worth a phone-call on Results Day - you might still get lucky.

Hi, a little late but I applied for physics last year and 2 months before my exams I asked to switch to the foundation year, not sure what can happen for you now tho..
