How to deal with severe fatigue at university

I have cerebral palsy, however I need to rest and ly down multiple times a day

What strategies/ how to cope at university full time
You should contact the disability team at your uni and see what they can do for you. They may have places for you to relax, be able to sort out extra time on deadlines just some examples. You can also apply for DSA and it’s money that goes directly to the uni that allows them to pay for any specialist equipment , travel allowances etc that you may need:smile:

What are types of specialist equipment?
I’m not sure but you can check with the DSA team or your uni. They could have different chairs or tables to suit you, laptops with e.g applications for dyslexia
You should apply for Disabled Students Allowance and then get in touch with your unis accessibility team. The DSA process may refer you to a needs assessment but your uni may also be able to arrange some things "in house" for you in the interim. The specific things that can be offered will ultimately be tailored to your needs and what the uni can offer, but keep in mind the university are legally obliged to provide reasonable adjustments for you!
I’m not at uni yet, in the process of DSA just wanting insight from others what helped and insights into how they coped at uni
Just some clarification on equipment funding for things like ergonomic equipment. Specialist items like an adjustable chair, adjustable desk, laptop stand for the bed/sofa and ergonomic mouse for your accommodation would usually be DSA funded. It’s the university’s responsibility to provide similar equipment on campus. DSA funding is personal to you so you own the equipment and take it with you when you move. The DSA suppliers have specialist ergonomic assessors who can undertake home assessments separately from the needs assessment.
