Rejected from UCL, KCL for pharmacy, what do I do now?

Hey, I got rejected from UCL and KCL for pharmacy with the predicted grades A*AB. My interview went so well with UCL I don’t know what happened… I applied to Medway and Kingston where I got an offer to study pharmacy but I was very eager to go to UCL or KCL as they are both local top pharmacy schools around me (as I don’t want to move out). What should I do now?
I think the rejections were because of my GCSE grades which were Bs which is understandable but yet again I got an interview for UCL (which later was a rejection.
The thing I don’t want move out as my choice is to stay in London. What should I do?

If you are determined to pursue a career in pharmacy, I recommend taking a gap year to reapply and strengthen your application. King's College London places significant emphasis on your personal statement, while University College London requires all applicants to complete an online test. If you reached the interview stage last year, I am confident you will succeed again. Additionally, UCL Pharmacy had available spots through UCAS Extra on results day last year, so do not lose hope. Focus on achieving the necessary grades.
I applied to pharmacy during my gap year after receiving no offers for medicine. Despite retaking A-Level Chemistry, I managed to secure interviews and offers from all five universities I applied to. I understand how challenging this process can be, and I am more than happy to assist you in any way I can.

Hi, what is the UCL online test like? Also, do interviews involve maths/chem related calculations or is it like a standard interview where they ask about your weaknesses and how you dealt with situations in the past?

Hi can I just ask are you studying pharmacy currently? And if so how are you finding it ? I don’t know where I should accept and do pharmacy as I don’t really wanna take a gap yr for medicine as it’s not guaranteed that I’ll get accepted

Hi @Say_adzz

Sorry to hear you didn't get all the offers you where hoping for, but big congratulations on the ones you got!

The pharmacy course is great here at Kingston so if you do decide to consider it and have any questions about Kingston or want to find out more about what it is like to study here feel free to ask

Good luck making your decision!

Hi @zainab74945994

It can take a while for applications to be processed as it so busy at this time it may take a couple weeks.

If you are worried you could contact Kingston to make sure everything is ok.
Here are some useful contacts:
Admissions enquire - https://www.kingston.ac.uk/enquire/undergraduate-ksa/
Admissions Contact - https://www.kingston.ac.uk/contact-us/#blockid22719

Hope this is helpful

Take a gap year, that’s what some people do while others do biomed - I don’t think that would be a good choice. So apply to med in october 2025 and the fifth option make it pharmacy - only if you want to do pharmacy as an alternative but u would like to do a career in it just in case (or apply post grad after it). Focus on achieving the best A-level results now and gain work experience over the summer after ur A-levels to add to ur personal statement. I am sure you got this!
