University Shortlist

Hi, I'm currently in AS-Level and I'm thinking about taking Marketing course in universities. I don't take Maths for A-Level so I am searching for unis that don't require Maths. I have Uni of Bath, City, Uni of London, Lancaster, Uni of Leeds, Loughborough, Uni of Exeter, Uni of Liverpool, and Uni of Southampton for my longlist. Can anyone give me your opinions on which 5 unis I should put in my shortlist? Thank you!

Be aware that the course at Bath is Management with Marketing BSc (Hons) with work placement (bath.ac.uk) - WITH Marketing, and this means that Marketing is a minor subject with the majority of the degree as Management. Also you still require a 'numerical subject' at A level - not necessarily Maths and can include a science, economics etc. And - marketing and management both involve stats and maths - if you don't enjoy this stuff, it may not be the course - or career - for you.

Thank you for your reply! May I ask if you know any other information about the other unis?

You dont need maths A level to take a business or marketing course. From your list, Bath, Loughborough, Lancaster, Leeds and Exeter are the stand out unis

Hi @MarthaTrinh ,

Great to hear you are considering Loughborough 🙂

Loughborough is a top 10 University and is currently ranked 7th (Complete University Guide 2024).

At Loughborough we offer BSc Marketing and Management. I would recommend taking a look at the course page as this is full of information. If you scroll down to 'What You'll Study' it breaks the course down into compulsory and optional modules for each year. I found this really useful when looking for a course that suited me as you can see details of what you will actually study over the course (these modules will differ at other unis so is a useful way to compare courses) and will help you see if you can actually see yourself enjoying it.

This course includes a placement year/study abroad. By doing this you gain an additional qualification (Diploma in Professional Studies- DPS/Diploma in International Studies- DIntS). There is more information on the course page regarding companies past students have worked for and the support you get from the Placement Office when securing a placement.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions regarding this or about Loughborough in general please do ask (I have been at Loughborough for nearly 3 years so hopefully can give some insight!)
