Weight loss struggles

Hi there,

I was wondering what is some good advise to loose weight? I hardly eat food and have cut down on sodas and sugar. I walk/run atleast 3 times a week. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. My meals are fairly small and I never take 2nd helpings. It's been a bit more difficult after I miscarried in early 2021. I doubt this would have an impact?

Hi,
Coming from a 17 year old who works out 4x a week - a lot of it depends on your metabolism and genetics. Hardly eating food is not the way to lose weight effectively or healthily - in fact, this just slows your metabolism down as your body no longer expects to consume as much food. Instead of cutting down the volume you're eating, remember to make healthier choices when eating - for example, try switching white bread for wholemeal etc (though you might already be doing this). Walking and running is definitely an effective way to lose weight but you also have to consider the intensity of your training, assuming that you've got the consistency.
If it isn't working at all, why not try other cardio based exercises that might vary your routine a bit? Swimming, cycling and rowing are all good examples of this. As well as cardio (though it might sound counter-intuitive), try getting a gym subscription and expend from just doing cardio exercises - lifting weights is such a good way to gain strength that any amount of cardio can't achieve.
Hope this helped, even just a little

1. Foodwise, dont cut down on food. Eat well and Just avoid processed and junk meals. Eats meats, veggies and organic stuff. Cutting on food can have the opposite effect - your body would be more reluctant to loose fats to increase Ur chances of survival.

2. walking running 3 times a week Is great - make sure u are doing that for like a good hour if it's only 3 times a week.

3. If your goal Is loosing fat, focus on Building muscle. Cardio Is great, but has limited weight loss benefits (in short It only works if you are Always on a big caloric deficit)

4. I am Sorry to hear about your miscarriage but I would think that It Is probably not preventing you from loosing weight. I know people that smoked a lot, drank a lot and ate very bad but were able to get in shape After some period of regular lifting and eating properly. So focus on discipline and doing the right things everyday. you Will slowly see the results.
