As a politics student, I would say that any essay based subject will help you navigate a degree or career in law. I think your bases have been covered with English literature, as this is a popular subject amongst law students, so it really comes down to what you would prefer. If you would rather study politics, then I suggest going to a different school, as you shouldn't limit your options just because one school doesn't have the subject. That being said, if this is a school you feel you would be happier at and don't mind studying sociology instead of politics, then it would probably be a wise idea to go there as originally planned. Doing English and French is already enough for even top universities such as Cambridge, as these are the recommended subjects that most law students there will have taken, so your final choice really is dependent upon personal preference. Do what makes you happiest.

There are NO required A level subjects for Law.

Most people find taking an essay-based subjects is useful for skills - and for LNAT - and Sociology would be just as good as Politics for this purpose, and just as relevant in terms of social science background. No Uni would 'prefer' Politics over Sociology.
