IB leaked papers????

so I've heard that leaking IB papers is common? which is honestly shocking to me. our school puts IB on a pedestal like they keep their papers in the swiss bank or smn. so if M24 ib papers did actually get leaked, what does the IB normally do? make students resit papers? lower grade boundaries? or use predicted grades?

Its a nonsense - a rumour started on Reddit with no basis in fact.
Forget it.

Your school is a good IB exam centre and is following all the IB exam protocols. You should be proud!

Soon enough IBO will be able to track down which exam centre/culprits leaked the papers. Don't let this concern you. Focus on your written exams with the expected academic integrity.

What IBO would do, clearly depends on the extent of the breach. No point speculating, tbh.

If any of you have some real evidence of this happening - not just 'my friend says' - then you may like to email

So the IB should have contacted your school by now or will be taking contacting them. Leaking IB papers is certainly far from common. Every May session papers do indeed get leaked but its on a very very small scale and not many people find out about it. You can compare it to MI5/MI6 agents, and November session never get leaked. If they do they are most probably schools. But this year it has reached thousands of people which has never been done before. (maybe M17 was similar). This year people who are involved in obtaining the leaks thought they were special and posted it on a sub-reddit now taken down. It had either 12k, 16k or 18k i cant remember. Although I knew about the leaks I never wanted to be involved in using them.

Some people have said that the leaks especially AA had over 10,000 downloads from reddit alone. Now the question arises will reddit know and share the people with the IBO on who have downloaded it. I don't know. For the people wondering who in the world shared it - from what I have heard some corrupt Irani schools had shared them online, the coordinators themselves. IB will take considerate actions, leaving no one who hasn't been involved disadvantaged. The IB do have mechanisms in place that can identify and address incidents of malpractice and atypical performance. In the coming days, the IB will be in contact with all schools, to provide further information and outline any necessary corrective actions.

The unfortunate part of the story is that, you may (most probably) won't find out if IB has determined you being involved until the day of the results.

I did my exams M23. Thank god it was such an uneventful year! I feel so sorry for the M24 students who have worked so hard for their exams. I care about this group the most. Those who compromised on their academic integrity do not deserve to get their grades, HONESTLY.

I hope IBO will truly act on its stance on malpractice, eg sever ties with the IB school/s involved so they can no longer offer the IB. A slap on the wrist is not enough. It needs to cut off this cancer and send a strong message to the rest of the IB schools to do better in safeguarding their exam papers. The school doesn't deserve to be a school if it cannot even uphold something so simple as academic integrity. I want IBO to do the right thing. I don't want my IB qualifications (am an alum) to be cast with ridicule!

It’s not common at all that’s why they don’t have reserves and all of us who are sitting the exams fairly are getting screwed over and having our work wasted

bru...its real saw them with my own eyes, its everywhere word for word the same; why are you trying to downplay what happened? In combination of the 4 subject papers, there were over 40'000 views, with math AA being 18'000 which is 45% of the overall IB mathAA cohort. Youre the one without facts, trying to downplay something so serious that has affected us M24 students.

Im not sure if you're school received the update, but they released a statement in regards to the leaks in my opinion there is nothing stating what will exactly happen to the students who hadn't cheated and ensuring this wouldn't affect us, I guess everything will be revealed after examinations or final results, until then we pray that grade boundaries remain the same or lower.

It did say that those who had cheated will not be advantaged and that is is committed to delivering a fair set of results. So take heart and do your exams as best as you can.

Wait. IB Dip is harder than the A Levels! If students can't handle the A Levels, they shouldn't be looking at IB Dip.

I don't agree with that... at all!!! Alevels are far more academic. In IB part of your grade is coursework... in A level is 2 or 3 exams with any help or guidance..

Well, we will have to agree to disgree because I didn't do the A Levels and neither did you do the IB. We do 6 subjects, all of which have coursework + a compulsory 4000 work Extended Essay like the EPQ (which in A Levels is purely optional) + TOK Theory of Knowledge + 18 months of CAS which constitutes compulsory engagement with Creative, Activities (sport) and Service.
