hi, im having a really hard time on trying to answer the AO1 bit of this question: 'Describe and evaluate Schaffer’s stages of attachment (16 marks)'
Im not sure if the question is asking to describe the lontitudinal study by Schaffer and Emerson or to outline the stages of attachment identified by Schaffer, or both?? And therefore do i evaluate the study or the stages of attachment? pls helpp

If I was answering this question then I would definitely do both - maybe two evaluation paragraphs for each as well? Otherwise there doesn't seem to be enough to write for 16 marks.

hi thank you for the help! how would you evalaute the stages of attachment though? like ie their generalisability? this is the thing im also confused about lol

You could definitely talk about the generalisability and then maybe link it to the limited sample in the experiment. Now I come to think of it, it's a lot easier to evaluate the study itself so you could do that and just make sure you explain why that affects the reliability/validity of the stages themselves, so you're actually answering the question.

you should do the AMRC for it, which the stages are included in the results and then you'd do evaluate the study like talking about the validity, reliability, ecological validity, application etc...

its based on the asocial, indiscriminate , specific attahmnet and the multiple attachment. then u mention the study and evolution points such as application to day care , lack external validity, poor evince for asocial
