Do my parents have other dependants?

I'm filling out my student finance application and it's time for my mu to fill out her financial details, and one of the questions is 'Do you have any other dependants?'. Does my sister who's still in primary school count? And if so what's her education status for next year, the options are 'At school or studying A levels at college', 'Studying at college or university' or 'Not in education'.

Hi there,

Your younger Sister would be a dependent. It would be 'Not in further or higher education'.

Hi thanks for the response, we're filling out a PFF2 form now and it's asking similar questions, except this time there's a box asking for 'income for the year'. Is this supposed to be left blank as she's not earning anything? Or is it implying how much income is spent on her?

Hi Laura,

Yes, your sister counts as a dependent in this case: tell us whatever the plans to be doing from September. If this changed later that's okay.

Thanks for the reply. We're trying to complete the PFF2 now and under the dependants section there's a box saying 'income for the year'. What needs to be put in that box? Is it her income? Because she obviously doesn't earn any so would it be left as blank?
