Are sixth form entry requirements negotiable?

I’m doing history, politics and RE for sixth form. The entry requirements for my sixth form are five GCSES above grade six. Currently i’m predicted an 8 in history, 7 in English Lit, 7 in English Language and 5-6 in art. I’m not doing very well in RE as I hoped and my grade dropped from a 6 to a 4 in the mock. I’m also basically not going to pass maths at this point since I’m predicted a 3 and have been for the entirety of school basically. But since I’m only one grade short of meeting the entry requirements and getting really good marks in history, do you think I could get some leeway? Or am I cooked?

might really depend on your exam board and college/sixth form. you can resit your maths in college (even in a level, many many students don’t pass maths - some even resit two or three times) and they usually give you tutoring. i got a U in my RE mock for full course (i’m in wales and we still use letters for grading) and got quite a high A in my actual exam. you’ll be fine i promise ! they aren’t very negotiable, it depends on whether you’re just a grade below but a high scored grade below and on rare occasions they will let you in based on numbers. the more students the better for them, since they get more funding. just try your best, but a levels are 10x harder than gcse, please do bare that in mind. no one is joking when they say they’re HARD
