MRes Cancer Biology Waitlist

On April 29th I was told I was placed on the waitlist for MRes Cancer Biology at Imperial. I have contacted the department to see if they have any advice regarding waiting for any further outcome.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how long it may take to hear any further outcomes?

Waitlists are there to ensure that a certain number of students will be enrolled at the respective Imperial course. You may not hear back from Imperial until June since around then grades are finalized for most students and conditions are checked for the students with conditional offers. For example, if a student has not met his/her conditional offer (which will show in June) a place will open and the department will then reach out to a student in the waitlist. Same thing happens with pending offers - i.e when a student has received an offer but has not yet accepted it (in this case if you are next in line you will hear sooner).

My friend was in the same situation for MSc Biomedical Engineering. He got an offer in July I think.
