The Student Room Group

Tuition and Funding.

Hi,

I am a 28 year old mature student who previously underwent 2 years of study at LJMU for a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences. I only aqquired enough credits to obtain a Cert. H.E. however.

I then reapplied some years later and was accepted onto an Integrated Masters course - MBiol Human Biology at the University of Worcester. For various personal reasons, I again used up 2 years of funding and only acquired enough credits to achieve a Dip. H.E. I was withdrawn from the course. I did not find this information out until 3 weeks after the appeal date had passed. The professors in the department were happy to allow me to return, but due to the length of time that had passed, my case needed to go to mitigating circumstances and was immediately thrown out.

I am unsure if there is any way to avail of a final year's funding to complete at least my bachelor's level. I have always wanted to work in education and have now found I am unable to apply for any professional training or even compete in any of the job markets in or outside the education sector without at least having a bachelor's level in something.

Any answers and advice that could be given on this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Nathan.

Hi there,

When are you thinking of doing this 1 year? Would it be full time or part time? Was your previous study full time? Can you confirm the full course details and university you wish to study?

Thanks,
Claire
