Girlssss i need u

So, basically, embarrasingly, i tried putting my first tampon in recently. Bear in mind i am 17 yrs old, so have procrastinated this process as im irrationally scared of sticking something, well you know, up there for several hours. I know so many girls just get on with it as find it easy as pie and i really want to get to the stage of it not mattering any more. so i tried putting it in and i was tricky at first, as expected, but then it went in and i was releived. I finished up in the bathroom and then suddenly started feeling really really faint like i was litrally abt to black out. I immediately took the tampon back out and soon went back to normal but has anyone else experienced this cos like im really scared to try again now!! sorry this is so long my babes

Hey girl ! I totally understand you bc I have the same issue..Im 17 and the only time I tried to use a tampon, it hurted SO BAD that I couldn't even walk properly and I had to take it of (which hurted a lot too). Although Im traumatized with tampons now, I think that trying a small size one could help you, or using lubrifiant (that's the word in french...idk how you say it in english sorry😭) . And keep in mind that you are not obliged to wear a tampon if it doesnt work for you and pads are fine too !

oh my gosh thank you so much! this made me feel less stressed. I have quite a heavy flow so i think id be too worried to use a small one but youre so right. Ive used pads for 6 yrs and they defo work for me so ill probs just continue with them. (lubrifiant =lubricant in english ☺️. Thanks so much girllieeee

Also For most people, this isn't an issue, but some people have quite 'sensitive' cervixes and have a vaso-vagal when there is pressure put onto their cervix. Try using a smaller tampon and make sure you put it in whilst you are in a place where it would be safe for you should you faint (e.g. on your bed).
