Hi, I've not done psychology. I did an open degree, finished 3 years ago and chose modules from the medical sciences umbrella. I loved studying with the Open University. I made few friends along the way who I could've probably been better friends with if I had the time to keep up the friendships but I've been very busy so wasn't able to make it to gatherings. We had meet ups every now and then and honestly they're the best people I've met. Everyone was so interesting and had their own unique stories. I met people studying other specialities and not just sciences. so in terms of socialising, if you have the time I definitely recommend it and you can meet really interesting people.
In terms of workload, I can't comment on the psychology degree but for sciences, it was impossible to do more than one or two modules per year for me while working part-time so I do recommend going part-time if you're planning to travel and work. But I also had a baby after my second year so maybe it is doable if you don't have other projects on the side, like bringing up a tiny human! 😄
In terms of teaching and content, it was absolutely brilliant!
Good luck!
