Help me settle a debate

I have a debate on-going with my physics teacher for about 4/5 months now.

Settle this:

Is cheesecake a cake or not?

I personally say its not, my physics teacher says it is a cake. Most of my friends also say it is a cake.

Please can you help me with this and give your opinion.

I feel like maybe it's a pie of sorts but definitely not a cake - although my sister did have one as her birthday 'cake' but I don't think it counts

No. No. No. It’s not a cake. It’s cream cheese frosting on a biscuit base. No sponge. No actual cake batter.
I think a cheesecake is more of a pie. or biscuit. but not a cake :hmmmm:
