For DR you would still need to meet the entry requirements in terms of required subjects, although they might reduce the grades required. They will also interview for DR so do you have shadowing and public-facing work/volunteering experience?

It might be worth considering doing a one-year Access to HE diploma in a health subject rather than a foundation year at uni. It would be cheaper than a foundation year and you could also gain the shadowing and work experience that you need during that year if you don't already have any.

Do they accept anyone who’s gotten lower than BBB? Because I’m worried I won’t meet the requirement.

yes actually!! according to ucas, their highest for diagnostic radiography at sgul was AAA, lowest was CCD, and most common grades they accepted were BCC. but ofc aim high just in case they feel mean this year

It will depend on how many places are left once they have accepted all the students who have their met conditions. If there are places left, most unis prefer to take applicants who have dropped a grade (or two) rather than enter the course into clearing.

Honestly, it wouldn’t hurt to call and try, between now and then try and get some shadow experience in a radiography department and volunteer somewhere. The clearing advisor might also ask you to do an interview over the phone so prepare for that. If it doesn’t work out, I would go to college and compete a one year access to he course in science. If you need any help with what to research and plan for the interview lmk.

I think the member you have quoted already has an offer and is concerned about meeting the conditions. Calling now won't help - they need to wait for results day.

It says they are trying to get into the course through clearing.

That was the OP not the member you replied to.

They did during my year (I know a few people who got BBC), not sure about this year especially since we were the first cohort to do exams after our GCSEs were cancelled. I would say apply anyway because there’s still a chance they could give you an offer!!

I’ve applied and gotten an offer which I’m happy about. I’m just worried that I won’t meet their requirements. If there is still space in clearing and they’ve accepted people who have met the entry requirements, would they still consider other people no matter the grade?

Unis receive results about a week before results day. If there are any places left once they have taken all the students who have met their conditions, then they will look at those who have missed their offers by a grade or possibly two. Generally, unless it is a very competitive course, unis prefer to take near misses who want to go there rather than enter the course into clearing

Congrats about getting the offer! I can't really answer this question fully as my grades were above the entry requirements when I was in Clearing. I would say they primarily try to choose people who have passed the entry requirements, and if there are extra spaces they may turn to Clearing for slightly lower grades or those who got an offer but missed by a grade or two.

Hi, I’m applying now during clearing and they told me they would get back to me in a week about the status of my application. Is that normal?
St georges and city you have the wrong subjects. But if you look at hertfordshire they class sociology as a science and it is currently in clearing. Herts is just outside london to the north so you can still be very near london and no need for a foundation course. They need 120-128 ucas points. For me its 128.
