Which uni do I firm? (Bristol vs Warwick)

Hi
I've applied for a joint honours of English and History at Warwick (AAA or A*AB) and Bristol (AAA). But I really don't know which place to put as my firm:

- I loved the feel of Bristol: really lively atmosphere, know that as a student I would have a great time there.

- Warwick: highly ranked for my course (6th History, 5th English). I can also do a year out here, and the course is good for joint honours students (modules specific to joint honours students)

I feel like I would enjoy first year @ warwick, because the campus is really nice. More worried about 2nd / 3rd year because Leamington and Coventry aren't really my sort of place. Although the course at Bristol is good, it is not in comparison to Warwick with the ratings, student surveys etc.

Post-graduate prospects are quite important because my current plan is to do a masters, but I also want to have an exciting time at uni, and have a good study/life balance.

Any comments on Bristol or Warwick are very much appreciated. I know I will have a nice time at either uni, but definetely want to make a well-informed decision to know what i'm getting myself into!

Both subjects can vary wildly between Unis - you do need to look at the course options for all years if the course at each Uni and think carefully about what units etc you would choose if you went there. A tip - look at the Masters degrees available in each dept at each Uni - whatever these focus on will tell you what the staff specialisms are at that Uni / for that subject.

Be aware that any joint-subject degree is a compromise - you will not be able to do all the units on offer in either subject because of timetable clashes etc and this can get frustrating when you miss out on a particular unit you wanted to do - and you can feel that you haven't studies either subject in enough depth.

Bristol is an older city campus spread across a small area in the city centre - Warwick is a concrete campus Uni on a site miles away from Warwick. Have a look at the campus tour films on YouTube.

I actually liked the campus in Warwick; it is well-reputed and respected among employers. Not too sure about Bristol tho
