LSE Accommodation - No More Ensuites

Hi all! I've received my LSE offer a few days ago and am now in the process of trying to book accommodation. I'd really like to book an ensuite / studio room but it seems as though most have sold out based on the LSE portal. Only Sidney Webb is left but I've heard that it's a bit far + crime is high (?).

Is it possible that some ensuite rooms will eventually become available on the LSE portal? Or would it be better if I explore other options eg. private 3rd party accommodation / settle for non-ensuite rooms?

Thank you!!

congrats firstly - what was your offer in? my guess would be that on results day there will be a lot of rooms freeing up as people miss their grades but I would probably get in contact with the accom team to see if thats an option

Hi! Yes, I have the same concerns! I am also looking for a single en-suite room but there are literally no options! I was interested in Garden Halls but apparently that’s been sold out 2 months ago! Anyways, the only available option as you say is Sidney Webb and I am really not interested in Sidney Webb purely because of the location. It’s definitely not safe, especially at night. I am currently on the waiting list for Urbanest Westminster Bridge. They have great en-suite rooms & studios and it’s showing up on the LSE portal but apparently their LSE rooms are sold out or something so they’ve put me on a waitlist. I’ve also been looking at private studios but they are very expensive or quite far!

University of London has a waitlist that will open up on 22nd August for intercollegiate halls so if you don’t find any rooms before then, you can join the waitlist. UoL has some great intercollegiate options for LSE students e.g. Garden Halls but that’s very popular.

I suggest having a few private accommodation options handy but I’d also suggest keeping a look out for any updates on the LSE portal as rooms may free up later on. I know someone who booked their LSE accommodation at one of the intercollegiate halls in July (not sure how because the deadline for accommodation booking is earlier but LSE helped him apparently!)

Honestly it’s such a task finding accommodation, I hope we get something soon!

I was in this situation last year and I chose Sidney Webb. Its honestly no where near as bad as people say, and the interior is super nice
