I really want to get a 9 for GSCE Biology, does anyone have any good tips for how to improve exam technique and like the difference between command words? And even just remembering practicals

MEMORISE. THE. CONTENT.

biology is just a heavily content based subject so just learn the keywords because as far as i know it has the harshest mark scheme because of those stupid keywords you need to include in your answers.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

PLEASE

look at the mark scheme. THE MARK SCHEME IS A LIFESAVER. i swear i learnt how to answer some specific type of questions by looking at the mark scheme and now i get 2/3 or 3/3 marks on them instead of none. from mark schemes you can see the pattern in the answers of questions you got wrong and because you've now identified those patterns you won't get the same questions wrong anymore.

practice practice pratice. apply all your knowledge. do the pmt questions for each topic, do past papers, do predicted papers (if you want to buy them) etc. just practice.

for remembering practicals: i always watched videos on practicals from the official pearson channel (i do the edexcel exam board) and made flashcards on them. i just went over them over and over until i memorised them. THEN APPLY. because i swear the practicals come up as 6 markers (at least in edexcel) quite a lot but not always.

hope it helps!

by mark scheme I mean looking at past paper mark schemes and spotting the pattern of answers of certain questions and also just questions by topic mark schemes such as those on pmt. quizlet is useful but i'd recommend after finishing each topic flashcards you should practice some questions to solidify and apply the knowledge. also practice a lot of 6 markers!
