Uni of York as International Student

Hi everyone:smile: I'm an offer holder for uni of York for psychology, and am very pleased as it was my top choice. However, the tuition rates are slightly stressing me out. My parents said that it's all good and as long as I'm happy they're happy to pay. However, I still feel a bit uneasy.
During my gap year following some medical concerns I kind of had a whole crisis and moved to Italy where I progressed my language knowledge (currently I'm around level B2 and higher) and kind of have been considering staying for uni here...

My question is quite blunt, but would York be worth the international tuition fee? I know uk prospects are much better but there are really good unis in Italy as well, I just nudged myself into a cross-road about this.

I wouldn't recommend the University of York. If you chose it because the city's quite pretty, the campus is far from the city centre and the campus is not like the city.

KU Leuven, Belgium
Utrecht, Netherlands
Groningen, Netherlands
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands
Erasmus, Rotterdam
Zurich, Switzerland

Hi Halifax, it's lovely that you're considering York. Psychology at York does have a lot going for it; it ranks highly in the QS international rankings and is in the top ten in the UK according to Kaplan and The Times. There's also fantastic facilities including the neuroimaging centre. But you've probably researched all of that already... 🙂 If you want a feel for what it's actually like at the university I'd recommend chatting with some of our current students on Unibuddy. You're always welcome to ask questions here on TSR too and I promise to give honest answers.
Hello

I am an international student currently at York. I love it. York is on the small side, but there is an impressive number of things to do and see (to the point I've not even close to done them all). I find York is one of the safest cities I have every visited in the UK, and the university is very supportive of career goals, and offers lots of opportunities to explore possible career paths.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or specific questions that I can help with.
