Kings vs Warwick for economics

I have gotten into kings college London and university of Warwick for bsc economics, which uni should I go to?
Warwick is at a very **** location but has better ranking , and kings has worse ranking but better networking and it’s overall a bigger name , so should I go for the brand or the course and which would be better on the long run. I don’t intend to do just economics, I might shift to finance field after undergrad so looking at that, would kings be better or Warwick as kings is a brand, but again Warwick has the better course. What would give better career prospects?

Okay leave the networking aside but honestly I wanna live in London and not in a location such as Warwick’s, so my question is, in the long run would it make a big difference if it says Warwick or kings on my cv? I mean I don’t wanna go into core eco so maybe it would not matter?

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

I don't generally believe that name of university makes as much difference as people claim. Warwick for economics is one of the exceptions.

So my plan is to maybe go into field of finance or management after completing my undergrad.

Warwick & Kings econ courses are very different in content: decide which one you think you would prefer. If it were up to me I would choose Warwick, no question about it, and thinking kings is a bigger name is a joke

I choose Warwick and trust me Warwick is assume, and its not worth reapplying to ucl, if you have Warwick then stick to that cause it is just amazing, it is considered almost the same for Econ as ucl and the campus life is really good , and even the party life is amazing and I think its even better than London and much cheaper. of course London has better clubs and stuff but you will have much more fun here and the house parties and all are amazing, so you will for sure love it. and even studies wise, Warwick is amazing and it will give you all the internship opportunities and all of that. In your message you have not indicated if you have got Warwick, if you don't have Warwick then it might be worth reapplying otherwise, Warwick has all the job prospects and internship opportunities as ucl and it will give you a 10 times better uni life.

Warwick is the number 1 econ in the country and gets more in industry at higher levels than LSE, if you wanna go further than being backroom financial analysts then go to warwick

Hi everyone,

I’m a Year 13 student from Yorkshire, and I’m planning to apply to King’s College London. I’ve always dreamed of studying there and pursuing a career in investment banking or working at top financial firms in London. However, I’m stuck between two courses: Economics and Economics & Management.

I’ve heard that the placement year offered by Economics & Management is invaluable—not just for gaining real-world experience but also for significantly improving your chances of getting a job after graduation. On the other hand, Economics is a pure subject that focuses on analytical and quantitative skills, which I imagine would be very appealing to employers in high finance. I’ve also come across some opinions that a management component might not be seen as particularly beneficial when applying for roles in investment banking, and I’m worried that Economics & Management could be viewed less favorably by employers compared to a straight Economics degree.

Since King’s is considered a semi-target university for finance careers, I feel this decision could have a big impact on my prospects. Does anyone know which of these courses is more highly regarded by top finance employers, particularly in investment banking? Or does anyone have insights into how these courses translate into job opportunities in high finance?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Mohsin

Hi. Can you tell me a bit more about the social side of Warwick. I'm applying but worried it might be a bit dull.
