Travelling to Kingston University

Hello, my name is Hristiana. I am a first-year Mental Health Nursing Student and this is what a typical day of travelling to the university looks like for me. Overall, it costs me £6.50 to commute to university daily. It takes me an average of 1/12 to 2 hours to arrive in Kingston Hill campus where all my lessons occur. Living with my parents is much more affordable for me and I get to contribute to the bills and rent.

Usually, I will wake up around six o’clock, which will give me enough time to wash the dishes from cooking yesterday’s dinner. With thirty minutes I can do my hair and basic self-care tasks. When I am ready to head out, I double-check that I have everything I need in my backpack like a charger and notebooks. After heading out the door I walk to the nearby station where I get a train to Surbiton station. From Surbiton, I walk 15 minutes to the Penrhyn Road campus to take the University’s free bus to the Kingston Hill campus.

The walk between the two points is quite beautiful and peaceful. Close to the bus station opposite the campus is Sainsbury Express where I would often get snacks for the day. I enjoy listening to a recording of my lectures or an audiobook during the bus ride. The bus is two on two levels so I would often sit on my own which is quite nice.

My journey back is quite similar. The university is a little bit more crowded around the peak that time. Sometimes I will get to finish earlier which means that will be home at around 5 pm. On my way back I might do a quick grocery shopping in Surbiton. The town centre has a Waitrose store with a good gluten-free section. There are a lot of little cafes and restaurants making it a good place to meet up with friends.

Hi Hristiana.Thank you for this info.I have been made an offer from 4 universities including Kingston and choosing is hard as I would like an insight into lecture in terms of days. Can you answer few questions for me please.

Days of lectures (BSc or MSc so I can have a rough idea)
Placement schedule(core days or nights or mixed)

I will be doing MSc in Mental Health Nursing so if you can also get me current students days of attending lectures and how placement look like that will be amazing.
