LSE accommodation

I am currently looking at accommodation options for UG entry at LSE for 2024/25. I was interested in Garden Halls (UoL intercollegiate hall). However, I have emailed LSE and they believe that Garden Halls has limited availability. Additionally, I've heard LSE halls are not great and on the LSE portal, the choices are very limited. I am looking for ensuite rooms and the only ensuite rooms available are in Sidney Webb House, which is quite far from LSE and isn't in a very good area. Therefore, are there any alternative options?

Hi
For alternative options you could look into private student accommodation and if you have the means you can privately rent a flat in London in 1st year although I am not sure how realistic an option this is...

I was wondering what you meant by Sidney Webb not being a good location? I understand it's the furthest accom (20ish min bus journey) but is the area bad? I am bit worried as I am planning on booking Sidney Webb ( bc its self-catered and ensuite) and didn't hear anything negative about the area.

hey, thanks for your response! i'll do a bit more research on private accommodation.
sidney webb's location is quite unsafe. i've been reading a few posts where they say the area is especially not safe at night and usually walking alone isn't the best idea. you would have to be quite careful of your surroundings. there are mixed reviews on the location of sidney webb. for me, it's not the best option but some people have found it alright there. i think it's up to you really!

Thanks for replying! I think I'll still go for it bc I'm not sure that any area in London is super safe at night. Fingers crossed the location is okay. I hope you figure out what to do about accommodation!
