Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with potentially freezing up during my exams?

Hi there,

It can be really easy to freeze or feel overwhelmed mid-exam.

If I find myself feeling distracted, or feel myself freezing up, I take a minute - will maybe even close the exam paper - and just focus on calming myself down. The biggest thing that gets me feeling like this is reading the exam and starting to feel like I've forgotten everything and that nothing makes sense. But instead of letting myself spiral into further frustration, I just take a moment to settle myself down. Then I'll re open the paper when I'm ready and will tackle the question again with fresh eyes.

I also find taking a few extra seconds to properly read the questions. At least twice or three times to fully understand what's being asked of me, which also helps me calm myself.

Hopefully this can work for you too. 🙂 Best of luck.
