Public Health ST1 Programme 2025 Entry

Hi everyone, I will be a non-medical applicant, and just wanted to start a forum to help one another with the 2025 entry process for Public Health ST1 training.
The application process doesn't open till October 2024. Wondering if there are others who may be applying this year. We can share resources and tips.
I am wondering if I can start putting together things to support the application?

Hi Jac10p
Glad to find someone as well! I have just done a bit of research on the application process. I haven't applied previously. So very new to this. Sounds like you are also applying via non-medical route. Have you applied previously?

Ok I see, same here. New to the application process. I will start getting evidence to support the application sometime in July. Hopefully, that gives me enough time.

I am also a non-medical applicant and happy to share tips and questions. I have done the application stage before, it is pretty rigid and as long as you meet the minimum requirements you should be fine. Happy to chat more if helpful!

Hi all, also applying via the non-medical route! I’ve applied once before a couple of years ago but didn’t pass the test that’s set in January. Hopefully this round is successful

Hi,

I'm interested in this thread. Can we take the discussion to a more user friendly platform? Thanks.

Hi,

I am applying as non-medical too. I got longlisted before (actually passed the assessment centre and ranked not too bad at interview) but last year, with the exact same application, I did not meet the entry requirements. Any experiences similar to mine? I suspect is not the experience at Band 7 or above but the relevance, as my role is more centred around education and training than practice. Anyone had a similar issue?

Hello. I will be applying for first time via medical route. Since I am new and feeling a bit afraid as well. Hope someone would share their preparation journey to boost up the confidence. Thanks

Similar for me, year before last applied and did well at assessment centre but not well enough at interview, last year I would say my application was similar but with some improvements, and didn’t get even get longlisted. Will try again this year but hard to know what to write in application.

It’s my first time applying, I come from a medical background but I've taken time out of training. Would really appreciate being able to share tips and resources

I am applying! I work in community development in a PH team, because I am local authority my role doesn't quite match a band 6 in pay so I am feeling worried but definitely have the work skills to match. I have already completed my Masters in PH so that helps me in work
